Capturing Portugal: Cascais, Lisbon, and Guincho Beach

My recent trip to Portugal was a feast for the senses, with every corner offering something to capture. I spent time wandering the charming streets of Cascais, a coastal town that perfectly balances old-world charm with seaside vibrancy. The pastel-coloured buildings, cobblestone streets, and bustling marina provided endless opportunities for photography, each shot framed by the soft, golden light of the afternoon sun.

From Cascais, We ventured into Lisbon, a city that hums with life and history. The iconic trams clattered along the steep streets, the tiled facades of buildings glimmered in the sunlight, and the viewpoint from Miradouro de Santa Catarina offered panoramic vistas of the city sprawling toward the Tagus River. My camera was constantly clicking, capturing the contrast between the city's rich architectural textures and the dynamic energy of its streets.

The trip culminated at Guincho Beach, a wild, windswept stretch of sand on the Atlantic coast. The raw beauty of the crashing waves and the golden dunes created dramatic compositions, perfect for more contemplative shots. Standing there, camera in hand, I felt the sheer power of nature and the serene isolation of the coastline—a sharp but welcome contrast to the lively streets of Lisbon.

This journey, from vibrant cityscapes to untamed beaches, left me with a collection of images that tell a story of Portugal’s diversity, beauty, and irresistible charm.
