Milan Through My Lens

My photography from Milan is less about postcard landmarks and more about atmosphere, rhythm, and character. As a city, Milan hums with contrast — old stone against sleek glass, quiet side streets opening into bold architectural statements, fashion and industry sitting shoulder to shoulder. I’m drawn to those moments where the city reveals itself naturally, often between destinations rather than at them.

Much like my painting practice, colour, shape, and composition play a central role in how I photograph. I look for strong visual relationships — light cutting across a wall, repeated patterns in windows and streets, unexpected splashes of colour breaking through neutral tones. Even in monochrome moments, texture and form take precedence, allowing the city’s surfaces to speak for themselves.

There’s also a human presence in Milan that fascinates me, whether visible or implied. Traces of daily life — café chairs stacked at dusk, worn pavements, reflections in shop windows — tell stories without needing a central figure. These details give the city warmth and authenticity, grounding its grandeur in everyday experience.

Ultimately, my Milan photography is about observation and response. It’s a visual sketchbook of a city that balances elegance with grit, tradition with modernity. Rather than documenting Milan as it is “supposed” to be seen, I aim to capture how it felt to walk its streets — vibrant, layered, and quietly powerful.

Commissions & Project Work

I welcome photography commissions and project-based work of all sizes, from individual pieces to full collections created for businesses, organisations, and public spaces. Whether the brief is commercial, documentary, or creatively led, I approach every project with a strong focus on storytelling, atmosphere, and a genuine connection to place.

My commissioned work often centres around people, environments, and communities, capturing moments that feel authentic rather than staged. I enjoy working closely with clients to understand their vision while bringing my own artistic eye and experience to each project.

If you’re looking for photography that reflects character, heritage, or identity — whether for a restaurant, workplace, exhibition, or private space — I’m always open to new ideas and collaborations. Every commission is tailored to the project, ensuring the final work feels considered, meaningful, and unique.
