New York – Through My Lens

My New York photography is about energy, contrast, and character. Like my painting, it’s rooted in bold observation, but photography allows me to capture the city in its raw, unscripted moments — fleeting expressions, towering architecture, quiet corners, and the constant movement that defines the place.

New York is a city of extremes. Scale and intimacy exist side by side: vast skylines loom above solitary figures; iconic landmarks give way to unnoticed details just streets away. I’m drawn to these contrasts — the human stories unfolding beneath the steel, glass, and concrete. Whether it’s the rhythm of the streets, the geometry of the buildings, or the atmosphere created by light and shadow, each photograph is a response to the city’s pulse.

Colour, texture, and composition play a central role in my approach. Even when working in muted tones, I look for visual impact — strong lines, striking framing, and moments that feel alive. Much like my artwork, my photography isn’t about perfection; it’s about feeling. I want the viewer to sense the noise, the pace, the scale, and the soul of New York.

Ultimately, these photographs are not postcards — they’re impressions. They reflect how the city felt to me in that moment: overwhelming, inspiring, chaotic, and endlessly creative. New York doesn’t stand still, and neither does my lens.

Commissions & Project Work

I welcome photography commissions and project-based work of all sizes, from individual pieces to full collections created for businesses, organisations, and public spaces. Whether the brief is commercial, documentary, or creatively led, I approach every project with a strong focus on storytelling, atmosphere, and a genuine connection to place.

My commissioned work often centres around people, environments, and communities, capturing moments that feel authentic rather than staged. I enjoy working closely with clients to understand their vision while bringing my own artistic eye and experience to each project.

If you’re looking for photography that reflects character, heritage, or identity — whether for a restaurant, workplace, exhibition, or private space — I’m always open to new ideas and collaborations. Every commission is tailored to the project, ensuring the final work feels considered, meaningful, and unique.
