Forgotten Wreck-Echoes of the Tide
Grounded where the sea meets the land, the shipwreck at Corpach stands in silent defiance—its weathered hull etched with time, telling tales of journeys long past. Through bold layers of oil paint, its presence is sculpted in rich textures, each stroke breathing life into the rusted metal, the fractured wood, the quiet surrender of man-made strength to nature’s steady grip.
The sky stretches endlessly above, shifting in hues of deep blue, purples and fleeting gold, clouds drifting in whispers across the Highland horizon and Ben Nevis. Beneath, the water mirrors the scene—a mosaic of rippling reflections, broken only by the rugged shoreline, where sea and earth intertwine. The distant peaks watch over the wreck, their silhouettes rising like guardians, unshaken by the passage of time.
My brushwork captures the duality—decay and beauty, solitude and history. The wreck is now looked upon as a monument, a fragment of the past resting in the embrace of the present.
