Seeing the Landscape, Feeling the Moment

My landscape photography is about capturing atmosphere, light, and a sense of place rather than simply recording a view. I’m drawn to moments where the landscape feels alive — shifting skies, changing seas, quiet roads, and familiar Scottish coastlines that hold memory and mood. Much like my painting, colour, contrast, and composition play a central role, allowing each photograph to evoke emotion and invite the viewer to pause and reflect.

I often photograph locations that feel personal or overlooked, finding beauty in both dramatic scenes and subtle details. Whether it’s the calm after a storm, a glowing sunset, or the quiet rhythm of the land, my aim is to translate how it felt to stand there, not just how it looked. There’s a strong sense of storytelling in the work — each image offering its own narrative shaped by light, weather, and time.

Ultimately, my landscape photography sits alongside my wider creative practice, sharing the same belief that art should be accessible, engaging, and rooted in real experiences. These photographs are an invitation to slow down, reconnect with the landscape, and see familiar places through a fresh, expressive lens.

Commissions & Project Work

I welcome photography commissions and project-based work of all sizes, from individual pieces to full collections created for businesses, organisations, and public spaces. Whether the brief is commercial, documentary, or creatively led, I approach every project with a strong focus on storytelling, atmosphere, and a genuine connection to place.

My commissioned work often centres around people, environments, and communities, capturing moments that feel authentic rather than staged. I enjoy working closely with clients to understand their vision while bringing my own artistic eye and experience to each project.

If you’re looking for photography that reflects character, heritage, or identity — whether for a restaurant, workplace, exhibition, or private space — I’m always open to new ideas and collaborations. Every commission is tailored to the project, ensuring the final work feels considered, meaningful, and unique.
